Rangers Supporters Trust - October 2005 (Click here to view the full archive) |
|
10 October 2005 At Friday's club AGM, David Murray was asked by a Trust board member whether or not the club was prepared to back the RST's ShareSave scheme as much as it could, given it's obvious benefits to all. The chairman replied that he and Rangers were happy to give their approval to the scheme and would help to make it as successful as possible. The Trust were also happy to hear Mr Murray say that despite his overwhelming shareholding 'Rangers weren't really just his club, but that it was owned by all Rangers fans'. This is hopefully an indication as to Mr Murray's increasing commitment to genuine supporters' representation in the future. Please keep your eye on the RST site for more news regarding the ShareSave scheme over the next few weeks. 11 October 2005 RST member Scott Cunningham and his guide dog - Travis - have been asked by the Guide Dogs charity to help launch this year's Rangers Charity Foundation. As part of their duties, Scott (and Travis!!!) will fulfill a lifetime ambition by going onto the Ibrox pitch during half-time at the October 22nd home game versus Motherwell. They will also represent the charity along with the head of fundraising at the charity ball later that evening in the Hilton hotel. Scott was not born blind but, in his own words, "with the aid of Guide Dogs has got his life back together" after losing his sight back in 1993. Scott jokes that he is proud of the fact that he "has not seen Rangers get beat since then"...! If you'd like to know more about Scott (and Travis) and their marvellous charity work, please visit their website: Travistrek. 19 October 2005 Many Rangers fans and Trust members will have heard of, or played, the excellent Football Manager games from Sports Interactive and SEGA. You can find out more about the game by clicking the image above. In association with FM Rangers, the Trust has an opportunity for all new members registered in October and November to win a copy of this game (which is released on the 22nd of October, 2005). Simply by joining the Trust in these months, your name will be entered into a draw for a PC/Mac copy of the game. Joining the Trust costs from only £10 and is great value. Each new member will receive one free share in Rangers FC plc, as well as democratic supporters' representation. A great Christmas gift for friends or family members! 28 October 2005 The tenth issue of the Rangers Supporters' Trust's newsletter, The Blue Spirit, will now be published in mid to late November and not in October as published in issue number 9. The final details of the RST's Sharesave Scheme will soon be confirmed and full details will be published in issue 10 of the newsletter. We apologise for the delay. |
