Competition Winner announced

As the deadline for entries has now passed (see the Latest News item dated 18 April 2005) we can confirm that the lucky winner of the new Rangers book due for publication in August is Trust Member # 1707 - Stewart Franklin of Edinburgh University.

Although most entrants got the answer correct - Gayfield Park, Arbroath - Stewart was one of only three to answer the tie-break question correctly, and that was red socks with a white top. What confused many entrants was the knowledge that Arbroath wore maroon socks with white tops in those days, but folk forgot that in the late sixties when there was a clash of colours between two teams, it was the HOME side which had to change.

Thanks to all those who entered, and we hope you enjoy your book when you get it in August, Stewart.
