Further RST Annual Dinner 2007 Information

Following the resounding successes of our previous three annual dinners, the Trust is pleased to announce the date of next year's dinner will be Saturday the 24th March, 2007.

The venue is the Holiday Inn in the city centre of Glasgow. Doors open at 7pm and the 5 course dinner will be served from 7.30pm. The cash bar will be open from around 7pm till 2am.

The Trust has also managed to secure a discounted room rate for those attending the dinner. Anyone wishing to book a room should call the Holiday Inn directly (not through central reservations) on 0141 275 4260 and quote the 'RST Dinner'. The cost is £75 for a room for 2 including breakfast. The rooms can be cancelled free of charge up to the morning of the event.

Our first honorary member Mark Walters will be our main speaker of the evening and we are delighted to announce that renowned speaker Bill Copeland; comedian Bert Allen and the legend that is Gordon Smith (MC for the evening) will complete the first-class line-up.

A host of ex-Rangers players are hoping to attend. These include Marvin Andrews, Billy Davies, Colin Stein, Colin Jackson, Tom Forsyth, John MacDonald, Kevin Drinkell and Ally Dawson and hopefully many more. We are also hopeful that a few first team players will be able to attend as well as some other interesting celebrities!

Tickets have again been kept to a very reasonable £50 per person or £500 for a table of ten and demand is expected to be high. All monies raised will go to further increasing the RST's shareholding in Rangers FC. Dress code is smart.

Please note that by contacting us through the site we can arrange for tickets to be paid on an installment basis.

You can now buy tickets securely via our online booking form or by sending a cheque (made payable to the Rangers Supporters' Trust) to:

Trust Calls for ‘Clarity, Direction and Leadership’ at Rangers

The Board of the Rangers Supporters’ Trust have watched with dismay at the events unfolding at Ibrox in recent weeks.

The Trust repeats its public call for clarity, direction and leadership.

Clarity

We are entitled to know why the Club’s former Manager and former Captain were allowed to conduct a public dispute, which led to both of them losing their positions. We are also entitled to know precisely what role everyone played in this.

Direction

We urgently require the appointment of a top class managerial team and the acquisition of quality professionals befitting of the team jersey. No-one is indispensable and no-one is bigger than Rangers Football Club.

Leadership

Most importantly, we now need a tangible, public indication that the ambitions of the Rangers support are matched by the Club’s Board and that the necessary investment and strategies to deliver on those ambitions are in place. We call on Sir David Murray to publicly address the Rangers support as a matter of urgency.

The Trust has called for an urgent meeting in the next few days with Sir David Murray which he acknowledges and has agreed to meet as soon as is practical.

Super Ally Leads GerSave Praise

In the wake of Tuesday's comments from the club regarding difficulty in finding inward investment for the club, what better way for Rangers fans to get involved than GerSave. But don't take our word for it - new assistant manager Ally McCoist and the legends below all back the scheme and have the following to say about it and the Trust.

Ally McCoist

"I would urge all Rangers fans to join the Rangers Supporters Trust Share Save scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to be more involved and at the same time invest money in the club they love."

Gordon Smith

“The RST Share Save Scheme is an exciting initiative that not only involves the fans but raises serious money for the club in a time where finance is ever-more important.”

Graham Roberts

“Good luck to the Rangers Supporters Trust. The Trust is a worthy group of volunteers who once again remind us that the Rangers support is amongst the best in the world.”

Colin Stein

“The Trust has shown that the fans can work together with the club in many positive ways, and for the benefit of each other. Long may this continue.”

John MacDonald

“I would urge all fans to get behind this innovative new scheme to ‘kick off’ a new era at Rangers.”

Tom Forsyth

“The Trust have shown themselves to be innovative, exciting and genuine in their representation of the Rangers support. Together we can make a difference to our future.”

Colin Jackson

“The Trust provides genuine, democratic representation for all Rangers fans. I urge you to join not only the Trust, but their innovative Share Save Scheme.”
