Winner of Blue Spirit # 3 Competition Announced

Thanks to all who entered the competition to win a copy of the latest Championship Manager game. We received many correct entries, but unfortunately there could only be one winner! He is Rory Mackay of Fleet in Hants whose name was selected at random from the list of correct entries. The answer was that ex-Ranger Jimmy Nicholl is Assistant Manager to Jimmy Calderwood at Dunfermline Athletic.

Fundraising Dinner on Saturday 6th March at the Hilton Hotel, William Street, Glasgow.

The Rangers Supporters Trust invite both our members and friends of the club to a cordial evening of dining at the Glasgow Hilton on the 6th March 2004, the purpose being to raise funds for the continuing works of the Trust. Tickets are priced at £50 per head and these will be available for uplift at the beginning of February.

The Trust's Vice-Chairman will chair the dinner, a dozen guests will attend including the Trust's only honorary member, Mark Walters. Two top quality speakers will enhance the ambience. Capacity is limited to 350, so book early to enjoy a spectacular evening that will live in the collective Rangers memory.

It is not a “black tie” function – dress code for Gentlemen should be Lounge Suits.

RESERVING TICKETS

There are a number of options available, as follows:-

1. Tickets can be pre-booked through the Trust website by utilising the Donation Section where you can input name, card number, membership number, and amount payable; the notes section then allows you to stipulate the number of tickets you wish to reserve.

2. By cheque (payable to Rangers Supporters Trust) and detailed letter to Malcolm McNiven, The Rangers Supporters Trust, c/o Direct Sharedeal Ltd, 3rd Floor, Sterling House, 20 Renfield Street, Glasgow, G2 5AP.

3. By cash/cheque to any RST Board member.

Further, the Hilton has agreed to concessionary rates reference overnight accommodation for those attending. Booking and negotiation is your own responsibility. Thinking of joining - please read this Important Notice first

No matter what time of year someone chooses to join the RST, membership renewal takes place on the 5th April each year. It was felt that, although this information has been available on this website for some time since launch (please see Frequently Asked Question # 9), it is only fair to potential new members that this should be displayed prominently as the renewal period approaches.

The RST is not unique in having an annual renewal date. This is how almost all football trusts work. The administrative difficulties of having a host of different renewal dates for each member mean that the present system is the accepted method.

We hope that this does not discourage potential members from joining up at the earliest convenience, and becoming RST members and Rangers FC shareholders in our inaugural year.

The earlier new members join, the quicker the Trust can build up its own portfolio of shares, but if anyone wants to defer joining until 5 April, please just date the application form (available in the downloads section of this website) for 5 April 2004, and we shall not send you a renewal notice until April 2005.
